SAN DIEGO–(Businesswire)–The College of Business Administration at San Diego State University (SDSU) said today that the team from the college was named the top corporate fundraiser during The Leukemia and Lymphomia Society’s (LLS) Light The Night San Diego 2011 campaign.
As of the close of the campaign on December 31, the college team raised $17,484.30 toward finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Additionally, the college had the largest team of walkers (161) for the LLS’s Light The Night two-mile fundraising walk held November 4 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The team was made up primarily of College faculty, alumni, advisory board members, staff, students and their friends and family.
“Light The Night was the first in a series of community service events undertaken by our College on an annual basis,” said Dr. Michael Cunningham, dean of SDSU’s College of Business Administration. “I am delighted that so many people affiliated with the College came together in their commitment to improve life in their community and provide much-needed resources for such an important cause. I would like to personally thank and congratulate our College team members for their participation in this wonderful event.”
The team from SDSU’s College of Business Administration will be honored for their successful participation during an awards ceremony sponsored by the LLS on February 16.
