SANTEE–Sheriff’s deputies arrested three men Wednesday morning for possessing explosive devices.
At 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to a call of exploding plastic bottles in front of a residence in the 9400 block of Mast Blvd. in Santee.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop of a possible suspect vehicle and found items related to the incident inside the vehicle.
Three subjects were placed under arrest for possession of an explosive device and booked into the county jail. There were no injuries, and minimal property damage.
The plastic water bottles contained items that when combined, build pressure and exploded, said Detective Dan Wilson in a written statement.
The incident is still under investigation for the possibility of being related to an earlier incident on Clifford Heights Road in Santee.
