SAN DIEGO–As Republican delegates from throughout California met in San Diego for the state GOP convention, the offices of the Republican Party of San Diego County were burglarized and a laptop computer stolen.
Some time between 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Monday, the main headquarters of the county Republican Party were forcibly broken into and one specific laptop computer removed while other high value and technology items were left behind, raising questions as to the nature of the burglary.
It appears no other offices in the office building at 5703 Oberlin Drive in San Diego were targeted.
“While the perpetrators of this crime are not yet known, the apparently selective burglary of the county Republican headquarters at the same time and in the same city the state Republican convention is taking place is suspicious,” said San Diego Republican Chairman Tony Krvaric. “We hope this is not just the latest example of political dirty tricks.”
Last week, the car of San Diego Republican Chairman Tony Krvaric was vandalized. Republican leaders say it is unclear whether these events are related and that a police report has been filed and an investigation is ongoing.
