SAN DIEGO–The Government Financial Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of San Diego’s Office of the City Comptroller for its Fiscal Year 2016 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
This is the third consecutive year the City has received this recognition. The award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“We received this award because of the hard work and professionalism our staff show every day,” said City Comptroller Rolando Charvel. “I couldn’t ask for a stronger and more dedicated team. We are proud of this achievement.”
The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate the City’s financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
