SAN DIEGO–Homicide Detectives are investigating a suspicious death in the Midway District.
On Thursday morning, officers were dispatched to a report of a battery occurring in the 3500 block of Sports Arena Boulevard. Officers located two males behind a business that were involved in a physical altercation. While officers were there, one of the male’s went into medical distress. Officers’ began life saving measures and medical personnel took over those measures when they arrived. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
Investigators are interviewing witnesses to ascertain what occurred prior to the physical altercation. An autopsy is scheduled in the next few days to determine the man’s cause of death. No arrests have been made in this case.
The decease is a 47 year-old male and his identity is known but will not be released until family notifications have been made.
