SAN DIEGO–A fourth man was arrested in connection with the 2011 murder of a San Diego man, San Diego police says.
On August 21, detectives charged 24 year-old Lamont Holman of San Diego with the murder of Cordell King. Holman is currently in custody at the George Bailey Detention Facility for an unrelated incident. Holman will be arraigned on August 25 in San Diego Superior Court.
On April 17, 2011, King was shot and killed in the 4600 block of Thorn Street in San Diego. At the time of the murder, Cordell was standing near the sidewalk when a vehicle occupied by four suspects pulled up to the victim and stopped. Several gunshots were fired at Cordell, striking him several times in the torso. The vehicle initially drove away, but turned around and returned to the scene. A suspect exited the vehicle and shot the victim several more times while he was on the ground. Officers found Cordell lying in the street and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Three additional suspects identified as 25 year-old Dionte Simpson, 28 year-old Jennifer Whitmer and 25 year-old Callie Beasley have already been charged in the murder of Cordell King and are also currently in custody.
