SAN DIEGO–Homicide detectives arrested a 24 year-old San Diego man and charged him with the murder of a man in the Encanto community, San Diego police said Thursday.
The suspect, Jared John Casey, was charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. He was in-custody on another matter at the time of being charged. He is scheduled to be arraigned in San Diego Superior Court on Monday.
On October 7, police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 6200 block of Imperial Avenue. Officers located two males, in the parking lot of a business, who had sustained gunshot wounds. The first victim was identified as 25 year-old Albert Razi Franco of San Diego. Officers and medics rendered medical aid to Franco and he was transported to a local hospital. Franco was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A second male victim also sustained gunshot wounds to his upper torso and was transported to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.
