San Diego Nonprofit Charity for Hope Raised $59,000 to Benefit Nepal Earthquake Victims

February 21, 2016 By sdcnews

SAN DIEGO –Charity for Hope, a multipurpose nonprofit, raised $59,000 February 12 at its Bollywood Charity event at the Royal India Restaurant in San Diego.
The proceeds from the event will be used to build 160 forever homes for victims of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake who are currently enduring the cold winter weather on the streets, tents or makeshift shelters. The new homes will be built in conjunction with a Seismic Retrofitting Services company in order to prevent foundation damages in future disasters.
“Charity for Hope believes that everyone deserves a sustainable standard of living, regardless of their place in the world,” said Charity for Hope Executive Director Vipul Dayal. “Our board was committed to making sure that Nepal did not become yesterday’s news because help was desperately needed, so we committed to completing our project.”

Charity for Hope gives 100 percent of donations directly to building new homes for those affected by the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Charity for Hope partnered with Charitable Care Foundation to benefit BETIndia.org, an organization that provides relief in accidents and natural calamities such as drought, flood and natural disaster, in order to have volunteers on location to execute the build out.

The Bollywood Charity Event featured a social hour, authentic Indian dinner, live entertainment by Violinder, who performs a blend of Indian Classical, Bhangra and Hip Hop, and dance. Donations are still being accepted through Feb. 29, and can be made by visiting www.charityforhope.com.
