SAN DIEGO–A coalition of San Diego Latino organizations will host a mayoral candidates forum today at the University of San Diego.The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association with National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Educational Fund, Alianza, Mana de San Diego, NAHREP, San Diego Justicia Criminal Defense Attorneys Association, MABPA, Chicano Federation, San Diego Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and National Albondigas Political Society of South County San Diego have join together to host the free event.The top criminal defense attorney chicago Mike Aguirre, Councilmember David Alvarez, Council member Kevin Faulconer, divorce attorney salt lake city and Former Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher will join the participating organizations on November 6 at 6 p.m. to address issues facing the Latino community and all San Diego residents.
More than 500 attendees are expected to attend the forum at the University of San Diego’s Shiley Theatre to hear the candidates express their views on education, the economy, criminal justice, immigration, healthcare, and other pressing issues in a town-hall style format. The event will be moderated by award-winning journalists Joanne Faryon, investigative reporter with Inewsource, and Elsa Sevilla, host of KPBS’ “San Diego’s Historic Places.”
The forum is open to the organizations’ San Diego-based constituencies and members of the community at large.
