SAN DIEGO–The San Diego Foundation has named Lori Holt Pfeiler as Associate Vice President, Our Greater San Diego Vision.
Pfeiler will lead the execution of Our Greater San Diego Vision’s public choosing, and she will lead the team in analyzing the choosing data to create the vision document and the associated implementation plan. She has a long-standing commitment to serving the San Diego region, and with her experience with local governments, planning and public speaking, she will be most useful in the months ahead. She is also well-versed in the initiative as she co-chaired the Live task force – one of four groups which also included work, enjoy and learn.
“I believe Lori’s experience and commitment to enhancing our region is precisely what is needed for a successful completion of our public engagement phase and the following development and rollout of the vision plan. Her leadership will help identify where The Foundation’s Center for Civic Engagement can play a critical role in implementing portions of the vision and in some instances identifying partner organizations best equipped to address,” said Bob Kelly, President and CEO of The San Diego Foundation.
Pfeiler has most recently served as the mayor of Escondido from 1998-2010. She has also served as the chair of San Diego Association of Governments, the regional planning agency, where, during her tenure, she chaired the Regional Comprehensive Plan. As a Councilmember, she served as Chair of the North County Transit District. During that time she was part of the Coaster train implementation, and planning for the Sprinter Rail Project.
She earned her MBA from California State University, San Marcos, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from National University.
