OCEANSIDE–A body was found floating face down Friday morning in San Luis Rey River, an Oceanside police spokesman says.
A witness had observed the adult male victim from the bike path that runs along the south shoreline of the river. Utilizing a small motorboat, lifeguards and police officers were able to recover the body. Police officers say the man had been deceased for an extended period of time.
The body, which had no apparent signs of trauma or injury, was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office who will make efforts to identify the cause of death and learn his identity.
