ENCINITAS–Rancho Coastal Humane Society hosts its “Celebration of Second Chances” event to benefit its Animal Safehouse Program, Humane Education, and Pet Adoption programs.
“It’s an evening for animal lovers to share a few ‘tails’ about their best friends,” says RCHS spokesman John Van Zante. “They’ll enjoy great food and music as they support the RCHS programs that are creating a brighter future.”
Jack Tempchin, who wrote hits including, “Peaceful, Easy Feelin” and “Already Gone” for the Eagles and, “Slow Dancin’ (Swayin’ to the Music)” for Johnny Rivers, will perform.
The event will also celebrate the Unicorn Foundation directed by Jerry and Pam Cesak.
Rancho Coastal Humane Society President Jim Silveira says the spotlight will be on the Animal Safehouse Program (ASP). “Imagine that your life depends on being able to escape an abusive home, but there’s no place that will let you bring your pet. And you know that, if you leave, your pet will become the victim. ASP gives victims of domestic violence an option. It saves lives.”
“Life Preserver” seating for the Celebration of Second Chances are $175. Tickets for the “Guardian Angel” level are $275. Seating is limited.
Silveira also notes, “Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, all donations made in conjunction with the Celebration will be matched up to $25,000! Join us for this special occasion and learn more about making a difference for the animals in our community.”
The Celebration of Second Chances benefiting Rancho Coastal Humane Society will be held from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, November 5 at the Del Mar Country Club, 6001 Clubhouse Drive in Rancho Santa Fe.
