San Diego, CA–Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation, an affiliate of the San Diego Foundation, announced the availability of grant funding through the Community Enhancement program to enhance the quality of life for those who live, work, and play in Rancho Bernardo.

For the 2023 to 2024 grant cycle, Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation will accept proposals for grants between $1,500 and $10,000 that demonstrate the power to build a more vibrant and civically engaged community.

The goal of the grant cycle is to support programs that make Rancho Bernardo a great place to live, work and play. Desirable projects will inspire community pride and revitalization and increase the quality of life of the broader community.

“We’re committed to the financial support of the Rancho Bernardo nonprofit organizations to build a vibrant community that benefits current and future residents,” said Debbie Kurth, Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation Board President. “We want to improve the quality of life and meet emerging community needs by increasing responsible and effective philanthropy.”

Projects must clearly address Rancho Bernardo-specific issues and needs, including activities that promote creativity and enhance civic engagement, and must also clearly address the impact on Rancho Bernardo residents. Separately, Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation will also accept proposals with funding levels between $1,500 and $5,000 for programs involving music to be awarded from the RB Symphony on the Green Fund.

Proposed projects should be practical, achievable within a 12-month time frame, and have prospects for long-term sustainability. Funding may be used to expand existing programs, replicate programs tested in other communities, or launch new efforts.

The foundation will fund programs managed by nonprofit organizations, schools, or government agencies that focus on problem areas, opportunities, or populations that otherwise are not funded and serviced by existing nonprofits, educational organization mandates, or state or federal programs.

In its 34 years of grantmaking, the foundation has granted more than $1 million to nonprofit programs that strengthen the quality of life for all who live, work, and enjoy Rancho Bernardo.

For more information about Community Enhancement and Music program grant guidelines, or to apply for a grant, visit SDFoundation.org/Grants. Proposals must be submitted online by no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, May 22.
