POWAY–A routine traffic stop December 5 led to a narcotics bust and an arrest of three individuals in San Diego county, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department said.
Detectives arrested 24-year-old Kyle Cookson, of San Diego, for possession and transportation of controlled substances, 34-year-old Victoria Lin, and 44-year-old Luan Quach, both residents of Poway, for possession and sales of controlled substances. Detectives booked all three into jail.
On December 5, Poway sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations. During the stop, deputies seized a quantity of illegal drugs.
The Poway Criminal Apprehension Team (PCAT), along with Poway detectives, responded to assist in the investigation. Based upon the traffic stop and initial drug seizure, detectives obtained two search warrants, which they served at a residence in San Diego and a residence in Poway.
During the warrant services, detectives seized large quantities of Ecstasy and Xanax, and significant amounts of cocaine, methamphetamine and psilocybin. In addition, detectives recovered a large amount of evidence indicating illegal drug sales and over $20,000 in U.S. currency related to the sales.
