ESCONDIDO–Escondido police are searching for an adult male who attempted to lure two female juveniles to his vehicle by offering them money for directions.
Authorities say on Monday, a white male, age 40 to 50 years-old, driving an older red convertible in the area of the 1000 block of East Washington Avenue, tried to lure one teen into his car. The girl ran off and reported the incident to police. On the same day, an individual observed a similar vehicle and driver in the same area slow down and speak to another female juvenile. She enter the vehicle with the male. A witness followed the car and believes the driver saw he was being followed and dropped the girl off before speeding away.
The Escondido Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding these two incidents, or any other suspicious incidents involving this car, to call Detective Hundley at (760) 839-4965.
