SAN DIEGO–San Diego police homicide detectives arrested today a man wanted in connection with the stabbing death of an Encanto resident.
The suspect, 20-year-old Miguel Ramos turned himself in to detectives at the San Diego police headquarters at 1401 Broadway in San Diego. Ramos was booked into San Diego County Jail on one count of murder. Detectives learned that the victim, 44-year-old Robert Acevedo and Ramos knew each other prior to their fight last Sunday, and they have had an ongoing dispute.
On Sunday, after midnight the San Diego Police department received a call from an individual who reported a stabbing in front of a home in the 1000 block of Evelyn Street. Homicide investigators say residents heard an argument, went outside to investigate and saw two males fighting. One of the males fled the scene in a vehicle.
Patrol officers found a witness doing CPR on an unconscious 44-year-old Hispanic male lying on the ground with stab wounds to his torso. Officers took over CPR and life- saving measures were continued by medics, who arrived a short time later. Despite their efforts, the stabbing victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
