Pet Of The Week: Elektra

April 21, 2016 By sdcnews

Elektra

Elektra

ENCINITAS–Elektra is pet of the week at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 1-1/2 year old, 57 pound, American Bulldog mix.

Elektra is a solidly built dog. She’s very enthusiastic and affectionate. She doesn’t seem to realize how strong she is. Her new family will need to give her lots of gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement as she continues through her adolescence to become an adult dog. Elektra is pretty sure that, if you get close enough, you probably want her to give you a kiss. At the same time, she’s just as happy to roll over on her back so you can rub her tummy. Elektra gets along fine with other dogs but doesn’t care for cats. She was transferred from another shelter through the FOCAS program.

The $145 adoption fee for Elektra includes medical exam, vaccinations, spay, and microchip. For more information call (760) 753-6413, visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, or visit www.SDpets.org. Kennels and Cattery open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day but Tuesday.
