Pedestrian struck and killed by train in Carlsbad

Carlsbad, CA–A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday morning by an Amtrak train in Carlsbad, authorities said.

The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. just north of the Carlsbad Village rail station in the 2700 block of State Street, according to the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station’s Transit Enforcement Unit.

When deputies arrived at the location, they found the pedestrian had died from his injuries. 

Deputies are investigating the incident. 

The manner of death will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
