July 22, 2018 By sdcnews

CARLSBAD–A male pedestrian Sunday suffered serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in Carlsbad, the Carlsbad police department said.

Police officers responded, just before 10 p.m., to the 4600 hundred block of El Camino Real after Carlsbad Police Department dispatch center received reports of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian.

Officers found a non-responsive 30-year-old male lying in the roadway. The male sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The Carlsbad Fire Department transported the victim to Palomar hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and was interviewed by traffic officers.

The investigation remains ongoing.
