Pedestrian Injured In Vista Hit And Run

May 29, 2017 By sdcnews

VISTA–A female pedestrian Sunday attempting to cross a road in Vista was struck by a vehicle, Sheriff’s deputies said.

She was struck just after 6:30 p.m. by an eastbound Dodge Neon on Watson Way and Thibodo Road. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, according to authorities.

The pedestrian sustained abrasions on her head, arms, hands and knees. She was transported to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

The driver later turned himself in to Sheriff Deputies at the Vista Patrol Station. He was not injured in the collision. Alcohol was not a factor, authorities said.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
