Pedestrian Fatally Struck On State Route 905

January 23, 2016 By sdcnews

SAN DIEGO–A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle as he attempted to cross the westbound lanes on State Route 905, California Highway Patrol said Friday.

Early Friday morning, a 32 year-old female was driving a 2006 Ford Explorer westbound on State Route 905 approaching Interstate 5. As she approached the transition road to northbound I-5, she observed a male as he attempted to cross the westbound lanes of traffic from the right shoulder to the center median. She was unable to take evasive action and subsequently struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Westbound lanes on SR-905 were temporarily closed for the investigation and cleanup.

The traffic collision is still under investigation.
