SAN DIEGO–A pedestrian died Monday morning after a Coaster train struck him in downtown San Diego.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department Transit Enforcement Unit says the collision occurred at the West Washington Street and Pacific Highway.
According to witnesses, southbound Coaster train struck a male pedestrian who was seen standing in the middle of track number one at that location. Witnesses said the male did not respond to the train’s horn warnings prior to being struck and killed by the train.
The Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement Unit is handling the investigation.
