SAN DIEGO—Investigators are searching for leads in the shooting of a passenger inside a vehicle on Interstate-8 in San Diego.
At approximately 2 a.m., California Highway Patrol received a 911 call from a 22-year-old female from San Diego.
She reported that she had been shot at while driving her red 2010 Chevy Cobalt on Interstate-8 eastbound near Texas Street. The female’s passenger, a 27-year-old male from San Diego, suffered a gunshot wound to his right arm. The male was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital for his injuries and was subsequently released after treatment.
Eastbound I-8 was shut down from State Route-163 to Texas Street from 3:30 to 6:30 a.m. to allow for an investigation. Currently there is no description of the suspect vehicle or number of suspects involved.
