POWAY–Palomar Health has officially changed the name of its skilled nursing facility to “The Villas at Poway.” The facility was formerly known as Villa Pomerado.
The new name brings the facility in line with Palomar Health’s naming conventions which began with the rebranding of Pomerado Hospital as Palomar Medical Center Poway, the hospital that sits adjacent to the skilled nursing facility. The new name also reflects Palomar Health’s efforts to upgrade the facility’s accommodations to match the five-star care the staff provides (as rated by U.S. News and World Report).
“The name ‘The Villas’ describes the luxury “city in the country” atmosphere our residents enjoy and the high-level of care provide by our specialized staff,” said Palomar Health Chief Operations Officer Sheila Brown. “The name embodies the healing environment we strive to create for our residents, many of whom face difficult challenges.”
The Villas at Poway is home to a maximum of 129 adult residents who have post-acute, sub-acute and long-term needs including rehabilitation, respite and hospice care. Highly trained nurses, including a Nurse Practitioner, work closely with patients, doctors and family members to ensure the best possible outcomes.
“The Villas name truly reflects the home-like atmosphere we provide our residents,” said Palomar Health Continuum Care Vice President Virginia Barragan. “From our art therapy to our individualized recreational activities, residents truly feel like they are family.”
