SAN DIEGO–The San Diego Padres have extended their partnership with the Century Club of San Diego, making the club a regional sponsor of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course for the third year in a row.
“The Padres are proud to again support the Century Club of San Diego and this standout golf tournament that showcases our great city,” said Moorad. “This relationship is especially significant because the Century Club shares our commitment to the local community and to the nearly one million active duty, reserve and retired military personnel and their families in the San Diego region.”
As in the past two years, the Padres’ relationship with the 2012 Farmers Insurance Open will center on the tournament’s military events. The club will again be a sponsor of the Military Appreciation Pavilion and will participate in the annual Military Luncheon. The Military Appreciation Pavilion, located near the 14th Green, is a popular free venue for military members attending the tournament, and is open only to active duty military and their families. Also continuing in 2012, spectators who wear their Padres gear to the tournament will have access to a special Padres grandstand, located next to the Military Appreciation Pavilion.
“As the Century Club celebrates its 50th year, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with the San Diego Padres,” stated Century Club President Tom Monson. “Both organizations take great pride in expressing our appreciation to our military personnel through the variety of programs we conduct each year, and we look forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.”
