The San Diego Padres announced today that “Away at the Park” returns for this season at PETCO Park, beginning with Monday’s 2:10 p.m. opener at Arizona.
Fans are invited free of charge to “Park at the Park” to watch Cox/Channel 4 San Diego’s broadcast on the video board on the back of the batter’s eye. For Monday, fans can park free in the Padres’ parking lots – D1/D2, Padres Parkade and Tailgate Park. Concession stands will be open Monday with items for sale, including soda, bottled water, $5 beer, hot dogs, nachos, and ice cream novelties.
Legendary broadcaster Dick Enberg will make his debut as the team’s television play-by-play voice when the Padres play the Diamondbacks.
“Away at the Park” continues throughout the 2010 season for all Cox/Channel 4 San Diego televised road games. All elements of the public park remain intact, including the opportunity to bring leashed dogs into the area. Picnic Hill, the youth baseball field, “Beacher” area and the children’s tot lot adjacent to J Street will all be available during “Away at the Park” events.
