OCEANSIDE–A man was shot during a robbery and carjacking Friday evening in Oceanside.
Oceanside police officers responded to a radio call of a man shot in the parking lot at 660 Douglas Drive. Police officers arrived and found a 19 year-old adult male in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was transported by helicopter to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla where he is expected to survive.
Police officers interviewed three companion witnesses who were with the victim at the time of the shooting. One companion witness-who was the driver of the vehicle the victim was in-said that when they arrived at their location they were confronted by four black male adults who robbed them. The victim was shot during the course of the robbery and the witness said the suspects then stole his car. The car was recovered a short distance away from the crime scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
