Oceanside Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Injured

July 27, 2015 By sdcnews

OCEANSIDE–A shooting Sunday at an Oceanside complex left one man dead, and another with non-life threatening injuries, an Oceanside police spokesman said today.

Officers say the shooting occurred at 2:10 p.m. at an apartment complex located at 3699 Barnard Drive in Oceanside.

One male was found deceased within the complex, and the other male was transported to a nearby trauma center.

The suspect in the shooting, identified as 18 year-old Calvin Glass, Jr., was later detained by Escondido police officers at the Escondido Transit Center.

Following his arrest, Glass confessed to shooting both victims whose names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation has been turned over to the Oceanside Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit.
