OCEANSIDE–The Oceanside Museum of Art will screen Homage to Chagall, a documentary film by Harry Rasky that presents over 100 paintings and personal interviews with the iconic artist Marc Chagall (1887-1985).
The Academy Award nominated film is a symphonic blending of narration by James Mason (The Flying Dutchman), first-person recitations from Chagall’s letters and poems read by Joseph Wiseman (Dr. No, Detective Story), and rare interviews with the charismatic Chagall himself as he neared his 90th birthday.
The evening begins February 24 with pre-film snacks, beer and wine at 6 p.m. After the film guests will enjoy a variety of French inspired food in a casual cocktail-party setting.
Reservations are $39 for general public and $29 for museum members. Cost includes the film, entrance to five exhibitions, light pre-film snack, delicious cuisine, and all inclusive beer and wine, and desserts.
