Oceanside Man Arrested For Robbery

October 20, 2015 By sdcnews

OCEANSIDE–Police arrested an 18 year-old male after he robbed a man of his two hover boards in the parking lot of a restaurant in Oceanside.

Travis Allen Morrison of Oceanside was taken into custody by Oceanside police officers Friday after the victim positively identified Morrison as the man who met him in the Vista Way parking lot of Hooters with another male.

The victim initially told dispatchers that he was robbed at gunpoint for his wallet by an unknown black male adult and an unknown white male adult. Officers learned from the victim that he posted an ad on Craig’s List to sell two hover boards. The ad was answered by an unknown male who agreed to meet the victim in the parking lot of Hooters to buy the two hover boards.

When the victim arrived at Hooters, he was met by the two men who claimed to have the money to buy the boards. The victim became suspicious of the two subjects and decided to leave. As the victim was attempting to leave, one of the men took the two hover boards from the victim’s vehicle and ran eastbound through the parking lot. The other man fled westbound through the parking lot. The victim followed the man, who ran to a waiting vehicle that was parked on Vista Way. As the victim was trying to write the suspect’s license plate number down, the man pointed a handgun at the him. The victim was frightened and fled.

The investigation into the ad on Craig’s List led officers to Morrison’s arrest.
