OCEANSIDE–A man was arrested by Oceanside police Sunday for allegedly assaulting and injuring a 67 year-old woman at the beach.
This morning Oceanside police dispatched received calls from Oceanside Lifeguards and individuals regarding a person matching the description of the suspect in the assault.
Officers located the suspect, later identified as 30 year-old Isaac Pettigrew, in the 200 block of South The Strand. Pettigrew was taken into custody without incident and transported to the police department where he was interviewed by a Crimes of Violence detective.
No motive for the September 22 attack has been determined, according to police.
