OCEANSIDE–The Oceanside Charitable Foundation (OCF), an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, released its 2013 Grant Guidelines, and began accepting applications on February 22.
For its fifth cycle of grantmaking, the OCF seeks grant projects that demonstrate community engagement through arts, culture and diversity having long-lasting effects on the City of Oceanside. The Oceanside Charitable Foundation invites nonprofit organizations to submit proposals that demonstrate the power of the arts and culture to build more vibrant and civically engaged communities expressed through cultural experiences.
“The goal of the Arts and Culture grant cycle is to support programs that make Oceanside a great place in which to live, work and play,” said George Brown, Chair of The Oceanside Charitable Foundation’s Grants Committee. “We’re looking for projects that will utilize arts and culture to increase awareness of relevant issues, encourage community involvement and participation; increase opportunities for cross-cultural dialogue; and contribute to neighborhood and cultural affirmation. This grant cycle will enable us to bolster programs that enhance the quality of life and build a stronger Oceanside.”
The Oceanside Charitable Foundation will fund projects managed by 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that demonstrate a benefit to Oceanside residents. Desirable projects will clearly address Oceanside-specific issues and needs; including activities that emphasize the rich cultural diversity of our city, promote creativity, enhance civic engagement, and set new standards for the far-reaching benefits that can be achieved when the arts, culture and community intersect. The OCF will accept proposals up to $50,000. The deadline to register to begin an application is Tuesday, March 26 and the deadline for submission is March 28 at 5 p.m.
A Grant Seeker’s forum will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, 928 North Coast Highway in Oceanside. Due to the new online application process, it is highly recommended that a representative from interested organizations attend. Because space is limited, each organization will be limited to two representatives. RSVP by March 5, 2013 to John Duca at john@sdfoundation.org.
