OCEANSIDE–The Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation and Friends of the Oceanside Public Library will hold the 5th annual Write On, Oceanside! Literary Festival this summer.
North County’s largest literary event will be held July 18 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Oceanside Civic Center Plaza and Community Rooms.
Organizers say the event will include live music, educational workshops, and activities for families and children. Attendees will have an opportunity to talk with their favorite writers, meet new local authors, take pictures, get autographs, and purchase books directly from the authors.
Admission to “Write On, Oceanside!” is free to general public and participating writers.
The “Write On, Oceanside!” committee is seeking participation from authors from throughout North County. Published and self-published authors in fiction and non-fiction categories will be considered. Also accepted are children’s books, teenage, how-to, comics / graphic novels, poetry, plays, science fiction / horror, biography / autobiography, gardening, cookbooks, animals, photography/art, mystery and spiritual.
Activities include One-Minute Pitch presentations, writing of Never Ending Story (a book combining one-sentence contributions from general public and authors), and opportunity drawings. Participation is limited. Candidates must include the author’s name and brief biography, book title and brief description, book cost, and link to their promotional website in the application. Deadline for application is May 31.
