DEL MAR–The 2010 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons|Sav-on always features fantastic food – and with this year’s theme, “Taste the Fun,” there are more new treats to try.
Dreaming of all things fried? Dig into the deep-fried Klondike ice cream bar or a deep-fried Pop Tart topped with strawberries! How about some deep-fried butter to have with your buffalo chicken fry bread? If hot dogs are your thing, nothing complements a corn dog like the new sweet potato fry dog, or hash brown fry dog, followed by a funnel cake on-a-stick.
Other items making their debut are the pickle corn dog, broasted turkey wings, chocolate dipped pickles and ice cream s’mores. Top that off with the dreamsicle float and you will be in heaven! Also NEW this year, the Four-Pound Belly Buster Burger! This giant weighs four pounds, is 11 inches wide, with 10 slices of cheese, eight slices of tomatoes, half a head of lettuce, 30-plus slices of dill pickles and five ounces of burger sauce. Did we mention condiments? Oh yes! Feed an army, or an army of one.
And if you’ve been craving your Fair time favorites, returning again this year are Tasty Chips, Australian Battered Fried Potatoes, deep fried frogs legs, fried Oreos and lots more!
