OCEANSIDE–The Oceanside Police Department received information from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office regarding the vehicle belonging to missing Oceanside Nikolaos Christidis.
On Wednesday morning, one of their deputies was investigating an unrelated matter, when he discovered the 2015 black Honda registered to Christidis. He checked the vehicle and found it unoccupied.
There were no signs of foul play or violence. The vehicle was located on 155 Street East mired in soft sand. It was between six and seven miles off a main road near Lancaster in unincorporated Los Angeles County.
Detectives with the Oceanside Police Department requested the assistance of an airship for a search of the area for Christidis. Two investigators from the Oceanside Police Department were sent to Kern County to examine the vehicle and track down leads.
The weather in that area is extremely hot and the forecast for the weekend is for temperatures to range from 115 degrees to 120 degrees.
