OCEANSIDE–(Marketwire)–San Diego, Oceanside and several regional cities are preparing for an increase in demand for new Solar installations beginning mid July and mid August 2010. Homeowners will begin to have access to special financing for solar systems to be installed on their homes with NO qualifications to income or credit. Financing will be provided to homeowners throughout various cities within San Diego County and the City of San Diego, by Renewable Energy’s PACE program (www.renewfund.com/pace/definition-history).
This increase in new solar installations will undoubtedly bring new jobs to the area. Unfortunately, many people looking for this work will be unqualified. MiraCosta College, located in Oceanside, CA, offers two major “GREEN” training programs conducted by Solar PV Training company AmeriSkills (www.ameriSkillstech.com): (1) Solar training installation 40 hour program and, (2) Hybrid vehicle mechanic 8 week program. The “One” week solar program offers students very detailed, in depth solar technology training, inclusive of safety and electrical fundamentals, and a realistic and comprehensive “Hands-On” training segment.
In anticipation of the large demand for solar installations that will result from this special, as a result of the upcoming special homeowner financing, MiraCosta College is now offering a discount to their Solar PV training class. Until the end of June, 2010, MiraCosta College is offering their solar training class for a discounted fee of $1,095 per student. This includes all course material, the “Hands-On” lab, and prepares the student to take one or two of the nationally recognized solar certificates/certifications (NABCEP or ETA) exams. Solar installation employers will be seeking new entry-level employees that have been trained in the specialized solar installation field. The next MiraCosta Solar PV class starts June 19.
The CA state wide program is estimated to begin mid August 2010, with each program containing very beneficial terms to the homeowners. The zero down, 100% financing is accompanied with a long term twenty year fixed rate loan, with estimated interest rates in the 7.50% range with only two annual payments. Homeowners will immediately begin to realize monthly savings through lower electric bills that result from solar system installation. In addition, both market value and salability of their home will likely increase.
If, within 5 years, any homeowner decides to sell, this is not a problem as the new loan stays with the property when sold. The present homeowner does not need to take their equity to pay off the solar loan. When the present home owner sells their home, the new buyer assumes the two annual payments.
MiraCosta College wishes to prepare several job seekers in San Diego County for this projected increasing demand for solar system installations.
