FALLBROOK–MiraCosta College art instructor Diane Adams and 25 of her watercolor students will be featured artists at Fallbrook’s Brandon Gallery in May.
According to Adams, many of those included in the exhibition that runs from May 4 through May 31 are award winning artists whose work was honored at the Del Mar Fair, San Diego Watercolor Society, Vista Art Foundation. MiraCosta Colleges juried exhibit and the Carlsbad Oceanside Art League (COAL). An artists’ reception open to the public is scheduled at Brandon Gallery, Saturday, May 8, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Adams declared several independent studies participants featured artists. They include David Banks, Susan Currey and Bonnie Gleason and MiraCosta College Medal of Art winner, Erin Cook.
David Banks, she explained, paints old weathered and textured subjects using a build-up of glazes, a very difficult process. Susan Currey specializes in large and intimate still lifes and flowers with lush wet-into-wet colors. Local scenes and moody interiors are the specialty of Bonnie Gleason who employs glowing colors for emphasis. Erin Cook developed an expertise around photo-realistic paintings. Adams’ work will also be featured.
Fallbrook Brandon Gallery is a non-profit artists’ co-operative with 28 members representing many major creative disciplines. Each month member and guest artists from San Diego and Riverside counties display hundreds of pieces of art that include textiles and sculpture, jewelry and gourd art, oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors and pastels, greeting cards, printmaking, photography and digital media.
Brandon Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Fallbrook Brandon Gallery is located at 105 N. Main St., one door off Alvarado in the Village of Fallbrook.
