Maritime Museum Of San Diego To Host Summertime Sailor Day

SAN DIEGO–The Maritime Museum of San Diego, home to one of the worlds’ largest collections of historic vessels from sail to steam to submarine, will kickoff their Summertime Sailor Days beginning July 8 through Labor Day on September 2.

The 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. festivities will include a boatload of fun-filled activities for the whole family. Extra treats are included with general admission ticket purchase.

Summertime Sailor Days Maritime Museum visitors will experience firsthand traditional sailor activities including knot-tying, arts and crafts activities, with freedom to explore a host of amazing historic vessels including tall ships, submarines and fascinating below-deck exhibits. Children can also participate in a special scavenger hunt throughout the Maritime Museum vessel collection to learn about history and choose a special prize from the Gift Shop treasure chest.

 General admission tickets are $18 for adults, $13 for seniors 62 and up, military and students 13-17 and $8 for children 3-12. Admission tickets may be purchased online in advance at sdmaritime.org or at the museum ticket booth located at 1492 N. Harbor Drive in San Diego. (located on the north embarcadero between Grape and Ash Street.)

For visitors wishing to spend time on the water, the Maritime Museum of San Diego historic bay tour tickets will also be available at the Museum (day of only, first come, and first served) for only $10 with general admission ticket purchase.
