CARLSBAD–An adult male Sunday evening suffered serious injuries after he was struck by a northbound Amtrak train in Carlsbad, North Coastal Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement reports.
The train was traveling at approximately 87 miles per hour when a man was observed standing near the tracks near the Carlsbad Transit Station, according to Sheriff’s deputies.
The man was transported to Scripps La Jolla Hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.
