SAN DIEGO–A unidentified white male was struck and killed by a southbound Coaster train Sunday afternoon in the area of 1240 W. Morena Blvd. in San Diego.
At about 2:40 p.m., the victim was trying to exit the tracks and was hit by the train, according to Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Sgt. Stephanie Guerra. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The train had no passengers at the time.
Personnel from North County Transit and investigators from the Encinitas Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene of the accident.
Positive identification of the body, notification of his family and cause and manner of death will determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
