Solana Beach, CA–A 65-year-old man riding his newly purchased electric bicycle for the first time was killed Saturday afternoon when he lost control and was fatally struck by a vehicle in Solana Beach.

As he attempted to pass a slower bicyclist traveling in the same direction his E-bike began to wobble and he fell into the nearest lane of traffic that was occupied by a slow-moving Dodge truck.
