OCEANSIDE—A male found fatally shot at a Oceanside residence Monday afternoon was identified by the Medical Examiner’s office as Stephen Adam Board of Oceanside.
Authorities said Tuesday that Board was a documented gang member, and the shooting at the residence appeared to be gang-related.
Oceanside police responded at 4 p.m. to calls of gunshots heard near Redondo Drive and Roja Drive in the Mesa Margarita neighborhood. When they arrived at the scene they found a male laying wounded in the front yard.
“We have no suspects in custody,” said Oceanside Police spokesman Lt. Leonard Mata. “We are looking for witnesses in the neighborhood. Hopefully someone saw it.”
Witnesses in the neighborhood told authorities they saw three Hispanic males running from the area.
The Mesa Margarita neighborhood remains quiet. The only reminder of the shooting are two balloons and flowers that lay in the front yard of the home where Board was fatally shot.
Authorities are continuing their investigation.
