Man injured in hit and run accident

December 28, 2010 By sdcnews

EL CAJON–A 48 year-old man Monday evening was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to walk across the 500 block of North Mollison Avenue, just south of Interstate 8, in El Cajon. At the time, the pedestrian was accompanied by an acquaintance, who was not struck.

The vehicle that struck the victim was traveling southbound in the number two lane of North Mollison Avenue when it collided with the pedestrian. The vehicle, which was described as a gray colored Nissan X-Terra, did not stop and continued southbound on Mollison. A witness followed the X-Terra as it turned westbound on Madison Avenue, but soon lost sight of it. The X-Terra is expected to have some front end damage.

The victim was transported by El Cajon Fire Department Paramedics to Sharp Memorial where he is listed in critical condition with internal injuries. He has hired a personal injury lawyer for guidance.

Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to please contact Investigator Tim Roberts with El Cajon Police Department Traffic Division at (619) 441-5559.
