Vista, CA–A man with trauma to his upper torso was found dead on a road early Thursday morning in Vista, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call around 12 a.m. of a person down on the road in the 1900 block of West Vista Way. When deputies arrived on the scene, they located a 35 to 40-year-old man dead on the side of the road.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing what sounded like fireworks prior to deputies arriving. It is unknown if the injuries to the victim are gunshots, said San Diego Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Chris Steffen.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, there is no suspect information at this time.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
