Man Found Dead In Allied Gardens Baseball Field

SAN DIEGO–An adult male was found deceased Monday morning in the middle of a baseball field at the Allied Gardens Recreation Center, San Diego police said today.

Police received a call just before 7 a.m. from an individual who reported an unconscious male in the middle of a baseball field in the 5100 block of Greenbrier Avenue.

Patrol officers and fire personnel found the man who appeared to be approximately 30-years-old, lying on his back in the grass area of the field. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers noticed the man had a small wound in the torso area. The case is being handled as a suspicious death.

The medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The victim’s name will be released after confirmation of his identity is made and the family is notified of his death.
