SAN DIEGO–Detectives are investigating a male who was critically injured in the North Park Community.
On Saturday, at 5:43 a.m., San Diego Police Officers responded to several calls regarding a disturbance and possible robbery at 3800 Pershing Ave. Officers found a 38-year-old male unconscious and not breathing. He had suffered significant blunt force trauma to his upper torso.
The male was transported to a local hospital by medics and is not expected to survive.
Three male suspects were taken into custody at the scene. Initial information indicates there was an altercation between the victim and suspects over some type of monetary transaction and a fight ensued.
Due to the victims’ prognosis, homicide detectives were called to conduct an investigation into the incident. Interviews and evidence collection are taking place and the 3800 block of Pershing Ave. will be closed for the next few hours.
The victim’s identity is known but will not be released until family notifications have been made.
