ENCINITAS–A male pedestrian was fatally struck Wednesday morning by a northbound Amtrak train as he attempted to cross through the intersection while the grade crossing waring bells and signals were activated, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s Transit Enforcement Unit.
The incident is under investigation.
