SAN DIEGO–San Diego homicide detectives are investigating a shooting incident which left one man dead and another injured.
At approximately 11 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting in the 2600 block of Gould Lane in the Palm City neighborhood. When officers arrived they found two male victims, ages 25 and 22 years-old, lying in the street and on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. Both males were transported to a local hospital by medics. The 25 year-old victim died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The 22 year-old is in stable condition and expected to survive.
According to witnesses, one victim was standing at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Desty Street when he was approached by a suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s, wearing blue pants and a blue shirt. An argument of an unknown nature ensued between the victim and the suspect. The second victim walked up and the suspect pulled a handgun out and shot both victims. The suspect fled in an unknown direction and there is no suspect vehicle description.
The identity of the deceased will not be released pending family notifications.
