Solana Beach, CA–A man accused of yelling profanities at passengers and their children aboard a Coaster train was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies Friday afternoon in Solana Beach.
The man, identified as 27-year-old Qaahir Baylor of San Diego, was arrested on criminal threat charges, the Sheriff’s office said.
Coaster train staff attempted to calm the man down, but when they approached him, he placed his hand on the grip of a handgun concealed in his waistband. The staff retreated immediately and began evacuating the train at the Solana Beach Station.
Deputies received a report around 12 noon of a disturbance on a Coaster train.
When deputies arrived, they contacted Baylor inside the train. He was later taken into custody without incident. Upon examination by deputies, a handgun was found to be an airsoft replica.
Train operations resumed at 1 p.m.
