Oceanside, CA–Detectives Thursday arrested a man accused of shooting another man on September 30 at the Oceanside Transit Center, Oceanside police said.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Brett Burgess, was taken into custody around 8:45 a.m. on a felony warrant for attempted murder. The weapon, a handgun, used in the shooting was recovered.
On September 30, police responded at 7:15 a.m. to a reported shooting at the Oceanside Transit Center, 195 South Tremont Street. When officers arrived, they were directed to a 31-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen and left hand. He was life-flighted to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla and is currently listed in stable condition.
